So it turns out that the MFD1 and Full FIS for the B5.5 1C0 CCM are capable of receiving signals from a later OEM BT; the module works in conjunction with the steering wheel phone controls to display contacts and call info. in the FIS. If I only had $$$ to do this :banghead:
