2002 1.8t. 140k. Does anyone know if a sensor is bad can that cause the obd not to "work". I saw Scotty Kilmer video where he disconnects each sensor one by one and when he pulled the connector off a bad sensor the obd worked! I don't have a check engine light and I checked all the fuses. :banghead: I can't pass inspection. Please any info would vw appreciated.

An aftermarket radio is the 1st thing to check. 2nd would be the ABS module.

If any part of the K-Line is shorted to + or -, it kills the whole line, and prevents scanning. The K-Line connects to the modules inc. Original radio and the OBDII port.

You can use the test near the bottom of the page to check the K-Line. To check the ABS module, disconnect the large connector.

I think my abs module is bad. I changed the front wheel speed sensors and the abs light is on and the brake light blinks. I did not know that a bad abs would cause no obd. The radio is stock. So if I unplug the abs, is it possible the obd would work. Just so I can pass inspection. Then I'll send it out to modulemasters or someone
