Disconnected part of the air intake to find oil. Does this come backdown the line from the egr or has it be blown in from a faulty turbo? I have 2 weeks of warranty left on it. Please advise.

Normal on the 1.8T, I think (see above post by Purplezr2).
You have 2 weeks on the warranty, however, I'd take it in and whine about something.
At least you will have it on record if something goes sour after the warranty expires.

Its an 02 130TDi.

I noticed that the seals are gone on the joint in the photo, which i fixed. Are there more joints like this on the turbo side of the engine.

Would it be worth cleaning out the intercooler. There was an awful lot of oil, is this just 100K miles of build up from the PCV?

It looks just like my 2002 PD130 which is going fine at 104K miles.
I think there are about 8 joints like that in the induction side.

Turbo outlet to bottom X-member
X-member to intercooler
Intercooler to plastic pipe
Plastic pipe to inlet manifold

They all weep a bit of oil mist but don't worry unless you are using oil at an unacceptable rate. I put in about 2 liters\10K.
