On my '02 Passat wagon, it indicated one of two trip odometers. I used #1 for the fuel tank and #2 for oil changes.

Didn't know there was a number 2, still don't know what the number 1 means or what it's telling me?
I've got a 2004 B5.5 saloon.

Briefly press the button on the bottom of the wiper stalk. It will toggle between #1 and #2. In most screens, it toggles between (#1) average over the trip (auto-resets two hours after shutdown) and #2 is cumulative until it is reset manually. Both can be reset by pressing and holding the bottom button

Cool, thanks for that. I thought I may have a fault.
