I have recently decided I may mod my passat. I have $12,000 I can put towards modifications. What power/times can that get me on a 2002 b5.5 1.8t tiptronic? Also how much money in mods would get me a 6 second 0-60?

You may not get much response they like for you to do your own research on the site. The 1.8 is super tuneable so you should have no problem finding info. Honestly I'm suprised you didn't get alot of sarcasm lol. DO the research one you decide on your list i.e. CA, CHIP, exhaust etc. then pick their brains about specifics i.e. manufacturer. You may get further!! Good luck!!

I don't know what "dollar per horsepower" works out to be on any of these builds, but figure it'll always cost you more than you originally plan.

Pick a target power range then figure out what size turbo will achieve that goal. Then figure out what tune and supporting modifications you'll need to make that turbo work on your car. In addition to engine mods, you'll want to upgrade the brakes/suspension/tires. Power with no control is no fun and can be dangerous.

Or... shop around for an R32.

You have 12k to invest in a 10 year old car? Dont get me wrong, I love my Passat too but I wouldnt invest that much. Other than simple things like window tints and a few exterior upgrades, that's all I am putting in. Good luck.

Spoken like a true W8 owner. :poke:

Quick reminder, your beast puts out a 100 more horses at the crank than the 1.8T. ;)
