Anyone who stays informed knows that more Takata airbags were added recently, including VWs. So many have been recalled that getting replacement parts has been an issue. BTW, airbags have always been injury machines and killed the occasional person. Still MUCH better than nothing.

Yes VW owners have gotten letters (some posted in the B7 section) but parts are not available yet for the ones added in January. VW went public juts like Honda too. VW and Mercedes publicized this at the same time in January. Mercedes got their list of effected cars out first though.

Shoot, Takata is still giving several manufacturers air bags that will probably face a future recall. It's not a VW issue, it's a problem for almost every car maker.
