It's DC, guys, our Mayor is in lockup as we speak. You can't expect the Fire Department to actually put the fire out :rolleye:.

At least the fire stayed down log enough so that guy could get his purse out of the cab.

Did the hood just suddenly shut itself when the flames got big? I didn't see anybody nearby the car.

Amazing they just let it burn like that. Kinda funny in the second video how the band got loud as the flames got bigger!

My guess is that the hood strut failed due to heat and the hood shut under its' own weight.

With regard to the question of why they didn't use the fire extinguisher I read in the comments on Youtube that it was empty, and they had to wait for a fire truck.
