It is frustrating when the mechanic tells me that they "all do that" and refuses to address this problem any further. Following a lower control arm and tie rod replacement on one side and a CV boot replacement on the other, I now have a car that creaks annoyingly over small bumps and when I turn the steering wheel back and forth while sitting still.
Any insights on this? It feels fine, but sounds awful. ugh

Did he set the preloaded height first before tighting them down? I actually greased the middle of each bolt (kept threads clean for a small amout of Locktite) during my install (All CA's replaced this week) The uppers have to be preset to a height, and then the suspension when assembled must be preloaded up to the car's resting height before the lowers are to be tighted. Also Sway Links can be noisey......

like JETninja said, check your sway links. Also if your front sway is aftermarket than probably its bushings are squeeking.
Otherwise, new control arms are not squeeking.

Miraculously the creaking disappeared today although I imagine it will return. There also is a clunking sound that the mechanic believes is coming from the top of the strut tower. I can't tell for sure except to say that while it feels tight it sounds anything but. I will check the sway bar llinks as well. Thanks all for the help.
