Dear Passat Experts

I have an early 2008 UK-based VW Passat estate. Tyre pressure warning light on dash, have set the tyre pressures correctly but wont reset.. I have been advised need to replace the switch. The switch is in the cluster of switches around the gear lever. I have been trying to source without success..

If you have this switch please do kindly contact me.

see picture..

Buy one here: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.ca/ulk/itm/323848866179

Or you could buy from the dealer too.

Trim removal kit (there are cheaper ones)..

Pop out ash tray, exposing two torx screws (T15 or 20 I believe).. unscrew, pull out panel under ash tray. Pry up around the trim on the gear shift with a short and narrow nylon trim tool. Pull up gearshift boot, potentially pull up foam below it. Use trim tool on button panel, pull out. Pry out buttons, find the little tabs and they pop right out. Unplug, plug... you’re done. Reverse procedure.

I finally got around to replacing the switch.. and the light fault is still there. it still wont clear. (I have set the tyre pressures correctly. )

Is there any thing else I can try to resolve this relatively economically ?

Thank you

Have you tried a vag com (or trip to the dealer) to reset it directly in the controller... see if that resets it. If not, maybe you need something else. If it does, maybe a break between the switch and controller...
