Need help choosing Koni's

Hey fellas, recently found some spare coin, and decided to go lower, which is a must, now i was pretty set on the koni sport kit, but then I stumbled across koni FSD's, now it says to pair the FSD's with eibach springs for a 1"-1.5" drop, my question is if i wanted to go with a 2" drop would the FSD's be out of the question? I can't really see .5 of an inch being that big of a difference but maybe somebody who knows can chime in.
Also is there anything else that I should pick up for when I do the install?
TIA

Stick to the Yellows for anything below stock. Too many people unhappy with the FSDs, even on Eibachs.

I like the FSD's. I thought I didnt and it turned out to be my tires that made the car ride hard.
Put my winters on and the car rides nice and firm.
I have the Koni Eibach setup.
you may want to do rokker coilovers for the price I paid for my setup($700).
really people are unhappy with the FSD's, everywhere iv been reading people are really happy with them on the eibach's. Looking for a comfortable drive on a 1.5"-2" drop, would the yellows on full soft or a quarter towards firm get me that?
I was wondering who dislikes FSD's too. I've had them almost 3 years and they're great. I think they could have more rebound control for the Eibach's, at least on really bad roads, but otherwise it's a very compliant ride that stays firm during cornering. You have to switch to 1BE bump stops in the rear IMO though.
Yellows. Not that the FSDs are bad or anything, but the Yellows deliver true performance with a good ride--even for a daily.
my FSD's at times feel a little too soft. My eibach pro kit springs have settled and i measured ~ closer to 2" Fronts and 1.8" rears.

My FSD's changed feel after I had them a few months. They are still okay, but don't resist roll as much as they did. Were very good, now okay.
thanks for all the input, looks like ill be going yellow's in the coming weeks, dose anybody recommend changing any perches or anything while all the stuff is already out?
Scott was one of the few people complaining they were too stiff. The Audi drivers complain they are too soft and did not control rebound well.

I ran the Yellows with 1/2 turn up front and full soft on the back and it was a very comfortable ride. On my 4MO, I run them much firmer, but the car is much heavier.
Good to hear, ill be running them with 17's on a 225/45 so I think they should be fine, any tips for the install, should i get new perches or bump stops or something? want to get everything at once so im not stuck buying from the stealer.
It depends on where you live. Anywhere with snow, I would replace the bumpstops. The salt slowly kills the rubber.
Canada, yeah we get salt here, alright bumpstops it is!
Start soaking the pinch bolt with PB Blaster.
I ran yellows on lowered and stock for almost 70K. I just now went to bilstein HD (stock height) and wish I did so a loooong time ago. So much better than the yellows in ride and control. Maybe it's just new shock vs. worn out shock, but I never really considered the yellows to be that comfortable, even on full soft. The Bilstein sports are valved the same as HD from what I have heard but are shorter for lowered apps.

Well going from lowered to stock height improves ride and handling, so you should take that portion of the Yellows existence out of the equation.

And full soft may not be the best (most comfortable) setting for the springs you were using--they have to be matched. Too bad it's not easier to adjust them.

Not that I am doubting your experience or anything, and as you say going from 70k mile shocks to new will always make an improvement. And Bilstein HDs are great dampers too.
Going from lowered to stock was no change and I adjusted to account for the spring rate(soft for neuspeed and half turn from soft for stock). I experimented a few times with adjustments and they just don't take hard bumps well. I need that on my backroad commute.

Interesting. When did you come to this conclusion Paul? :poke:

I can't say you specifically recommended FSD to me but neither did you tell me this when we were discussing it and ultimately, I decided on FSD on Eibach.

I have a 1.8T and love FSD on Eibach for handling.

But I am still not sure if I am 'happy' because the ride is sometimes a little firm well less firm as just a few cabin noises and squeaks which go away with the stereo but I put that down the variety of roads in Australia and to the firm tyres I had and still have.

Like Scott, I am hoping it soften a little when I can change tyres.
GET A DECENT SET OF COILOVERS! Height adjustability is your answer..

Was that advice for me with a wide variation of Australian roads or the OP or both and what brand would you suggest (for 1.8T wagon) as our dollar has hit 1.04 US :D

Normally mid 80s.
