Went to an Audi Dyno day and they had an open spot, so I decided to embarrass everyone with my stock wagon :p

146K, 2.8, Tip, 4Mo. Completely stock. Top half rebuild around 94K. 89 Octane in the tank. Final numbers were 153HP/166TQ to the wheels on a Mustang Dyno. It was far more than expected (130/150) and I suspect it was a "happy" dyno. Either way, it's a good comparison if I do mods. I expect it would have been smoother if I ran 93, but I was not planning to run it.

Rough numbers on the rest until they post:

The winner was an MTM RS6 with 420/525. :salute:

A B5 A4 1.8T ran 401/380 with E85 and a GT30.

2011 S4 had 315/320 stock.

V8 S4 was around 280/280.

2012 TTRS was 317/350 stock. :salute:

2000 S4 KO4's was 380/440.

4MO Tip loss is 25-28%.

If you average the torque line with the 28% loss, the numbers are about right. The peak was a spike anyway. The HP numbers are still higher than expected.

I added an 2000 S4 KO4's to the list. I think the 1st car there was a TT with upgrades putting down 220whp.

Any idea what portion is attributed to 4MO and what portion is attributed to Tip trans? Just to see where my FWD Tip might be, roughly. A less than 20% total drivetrain loss for your 4MO/Tip setup is pretty incredible anyway.

Not too sure anymore. They had the numbers on the chalkboard at the shop, but I did not pay too much attention to them.

Actually, assuming PZ was at sea level and his engine was bone stock and putting out 190 HP, the 153 AWHP that he put down with his tip 4 mo is only 19-20% Happy dyno or not, that doesn't seem to jibe with the conventional "25%" driveline loss that every disappointed manual BT Quattro owner claims is how much these cars loose on a dyno.

I've always maintained that manual Quattro driveline losses were in the order of 18% or so. If we assume happy dyno and even a few extra ponies that PZ has extracted, he's still not loosing 25% even with his tip 4 mo.

You see very similar results on the 3.2 B7 dyno I dissected. The Official B7 A4 Dyno Thread

But since Saturn wasn't in it's 4th phase and it was a day that ended in 'y' I was completely out to lunch according to the 'experts' in the B7 forum
