That's 5.05 liters per 100 km for our Canadian readers and 46.5 mpg (US gallons). That's pretty good, but I actually thought the TDi would be better.

'Course, my own record is 34.9 mpg (again, US gallons) at 72 mph across Ohio in our 1.8T wagon/variant/estate. That's almost 4 mpg better than the EPA highway rating for our Dub. All in all, I'm pretty happy with the fuel consumption.

2002 W8 Tip:

Highway: 28 mpg (Imp), 23.6 mpg (US)
Average city/hwy: 20.3 mpg (Imp), 16.9 mpg (US)
City: 17.7 mpg (Imp), 15 mpg (US)

not very good, but gotta pay to play.

just drove up to chicago from atlanta in my '03 GLX variant. averaged about 27mpg the whole way with wife, kid, luggage and travelling about 78mph. not too bad, imo.
