With ALL the people having issues with the amp/antenna issues, why don't you think there is a RECALL on it? It seems like a nationwide problem? Does anyone in europe have this problem too? I am tired of the extremely poor reception but I don't have the guts to remove the headliner.

Well 1, most of the time a recall on somthing is ussually for danger reasons, in this case there is ZER0 danger, and i don't think vw/monsoon would like to admit to there problem.
Just my thoughts

Monsoon is owned by General Motors.
General Motors is punishing VW for the executive who stole secrets from GM.
(Read forced radio sales)
Owner of VW vehicle suffers radio breakdown.
As usual s%t flows downhill.

But seriously the Monsoon unit I believe is just the amplifier in the trunk. I have had no issues with it. The head unit, which has been replaced twice in my B5, is built by Matsushita in Mexico (a Japanese company). It just may be a lowest bidder problem. (i.e. coil packs)

FWIW,

John
