Recently bought an 2008 Passat for my daughter. It did not come with an owners manual. Until a few days ago the display on the instrument cluster showed miles to empty, now it shows mpg. Can someone tell me where to change this setting and what over screens are available?

Also, does anyone have a link to a pdf download or do I need to spend $60 at ebay for a manual?

should be on the wiper arm stalk.
I have a B5.5 , that is where it is on mine.
you can check that until someone who knows for sure checks in.

There should be a set of up and down looking buttons on right side of wheel. It allows you to navigate through distance to empty, current consumption, average mpg, etc. There is also a menu button to the left of these that allow you to navigate through various menus. PM if you need any more help. Or, you can stop by a local stealership and they will help, hopefully.

as stated above...

Left stalk (wipers). There are an up and down button on the end and an "ok" button on the underside.

Up/down changes between readings, ok button toggles between trip 1 and trip 2.

When in park, you can also hold the "up" button for a few seconds to access the setup menu and change language and other settings.


by the way, when I bought mine, I was in the same boat - no manual and I had no idea how to do anything with the MFD - found it by accident one day.
