The question is really, why would anyone buy this over the A3?

Anywho, I remember seeing the last gen A class on the highway. GOOFY ASS VEHICLE. They do sell them in California if I remember properly.

i don't have specs in front of me, but I believe the A-class is a much much small car length-wise. who would want it? who should be driving it? people who commute into cities or anywhere else where space is a premium.

I think it would be a more suitable competitor to the A2 instead of the A3.
It's much nicer styling than the current A-class which is only found overseas -- not so much mini-van like.

If I recall from the first generation of the A-class one of the reasons the car is so tall is that the floorpan is designed such that in a hard frontal collision the motor is sent under the passenger compartment instead of into it.

And engine is type of flat 4, but not in sense of boxer.

remember this is made for the European and Asian market where they value fuel economy and space efficiency (roads and parking spaces are much smaller and gas is twice as expensive). It's definately not suited to most Americans, where we think bigger is better.

Until gas hits $3/gallon, we have a lot to learn from the Europeans.
