While cleaning the throttle body this weekend I noticed quite a few small metallic "particles" and some oil inside the rubber tube coming from the inter cooler to the throttle body.

Partials could just be trash that got there maybe but where is the oil coming from? What do I need to check?

Thanks

Some oil is normal, metal particles not at all. The oil could coming from your PCV breather, it's routed back to turbo inlet pipe, so there may be nothing unusual about it. You could install an oil catch can if you'd like to prevent that. As far as the metal particles, is your turbo noisy? Check for any play, the compressor wheel might be rubbing against the housing. A bad turbo can leak oil into the intake as well.

X2 on the compressor wheel as source of metal. The rubber duct on the front of the turbo is not too hard to unclamp, do that and wiggle/rotate the impeller as suggested by 2Kpassat.
