Hello.

I need your help.

I purchased an air filter from Advanced Autoparts.

And I replaced it for 2003 1.8T Passat by myself yesterday.

When I started engine yesterday, everything looked fine.

However, MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) is on today.

I turned off and on engine several times and dorve the car couple of miles but MIL is still on.

What is wrong? Do I have to bring my car to the dealer?

Warranty has expired already.

Please give me some ideas.

Thank you very much.

I have found in the past that when my Check Engine Light comes on if I just wait about 24 hours everything is ok again. So wait a day...IMHO.Also...check your gas cap and make sure it is 3 clicks on tight!

There is a little valve on top of the airbox, make sure you didn't accidently unplug it when you opened the airbox. If you do, you will get it CEL. Once you plug it back, the CEL should clear after a few cold starts.
