Have any of you heard the story behind the Carrera GT that got rear ended in San Diego? The owner stalled it while entering an intersection and was rear ended by a commercial truck. Damage didn't look too bad. He had to get it to shipped back to Leipzig where they stopped the assembly line for 6 hours to repair the damage with new parts. Apparently the tools needed for the job were only available in Germany on the assembly line. Total cost: $125,000.

That's pretty much expected. Are they just going to bondo over the hole in the carbon fiber monocoque? No.. This is why you are VERY CAREFUL when driving something like a McLaren F1, where replacement body shells are a little harder to come by.

Anyone see the episode of Top Gear where they drove the Carrera GT (it was aired last week)? Simply amazing... sound, looks, performance. I can only dream of seeing one in real life. Thanks for the porn. Here's a bit more.
