Who on here has fitted some lightweight bucket seats into their B5/5.5 Passats please?
My current half leather/half alcantara front seats must be 25kg+ each, if I get some that are under 10kg thats a 30kg save = 2% = 3 free horse power.

Doing lots of other weightsaving too as part of the project.
100kg+ removed is perfectly possible without the car looking much different (interior is staying in).

I don't really want all the responses to be 'how pointless' etc as thats irrelevant :) its my fun project.

What would people recommend please, i'd like to be able to slide back forth but can lose the reclining feature as long as comfy (reclining seats tend to be 7-8kg more than fixed)

I guess adapting to Passat rails is more tricky?

Aside, do Golfs etc share the same rail design? Are there any lightweight OEM options I should be considering? any Audi seats?

Thanks
