I parked my car came back few hours later i noticed a puddle under the car. Right in front drivers side right near the wheel. Liquid was clear slippery sweet tasting. I turned the car on waited for few minutes inspected for leak nothing. I drove off now noticed a ticking sound coming from the drivers side wheel. As I accelerate ticking gets faster I slow down it disappears I come to complete stop no ticking. I though it was antifreeze but it wasnt green it was clear liquid I dont get any check brake light could it be the power steering pump? and whats the ticking I just replaced CV boots in January? I drove the car home shut off inspected for leaks nothing, turned it on let it run few minutes still nothing. what could it be. I got 03 vw b5.5 1.8t

What do you mean it was sweet tasting?

Are all the fluids topped up?
Your antifreeze shouldn't be green, but open up your coolant reservoir and see what color it is. Maybe you do have just water for coolant.
Maybe someone spilt their lemonade :)

You didn't really taste it, did you? It's probably the coolant leaking from the coolant flange at the back of the engine. Coolant is poisonous and supposed to be sweet.

I have a similar leak, only happens when I park the car overnight after a long drive. I suspect the heater hose connection on the flange is leaking.

The ticking sound may be your CV joint going bad.
I have to say, my first reaction to seeing a puddle under my car isn't "I wonder what this tastes like"?

The tongue is a highly developed diagnostic tool.:p
A thin layer of the proper coolant (G12) could easily be mistaken for clear (It's sorta pink/orange, not fluorescent green). I believe it should probably taste sweet; and a touch to the tip of the tongue probably wouldn't cause enough kidney damage to notice. All in all, not an entirely unreasonable diagnostic.

I'm guessing coolant, and based on the location, a radiator hose. But it's just a guess; you really won't know anything until you drive it a while, then get under the car with the belly pan off and a strong light in hand.
haaa you guys make it sound like I was sucking the fluid with straw to see what it tasted like. I had to replace my water pump twice in the past couple of years had to do a timing belt also separately I just put regular antifrieze I know it doesnt like it needs the G12 I couldnt get my hands on it. The fluid was thick slippery clear its not brake fluid and brake fluid tastes bitter. I inspected the car for several hours drove around parked it went under it nothing no leaks no nothing. Probably it could be the antifreeze since the weather is very cold. As for the CV I replaced both sides driver and passenger wheel cv joint in June myself. I got whole kit CV boot CV joint took everything out greased it up but everything together. I check all the levels antifrieze is good, break fluid on level, power steering on level, I was little low on oil

Most people don't notice when pulling into a spot whether or not it has a puddle in it already. Could have been from another car?
Maybe it's your windshield washer reservoir?

AJ
Unless he's buying washer fluid in Vermont, that doesn't taste sweet.
Maybe it rains magical sweet rain in the magical land of sfgjjh and it was just that magical sweet rain built up in his sunroof drain

lol with all the coca cola and the other shit and the GMO foods are about more harmful to you than liquids from your car. Lets not forget the pesticides and chemicals they use on crops and cattle. Do you know that Military Chemical industry after WW2 slightly altered their chemicals and used them in crops.

I dont have sunroof genius. How does the sun roof leak right below the engine?

Thats the thing I wasnt sure I didnt pay attention when I parked I only notices after I came to get the car. Usually I pay close attention for leaks and oil spills under the car it is a possibility it was from another car.

I am pretty sure it might have been antifreeze from the radiator its been a while but few years back I usually sometimes notice a little coolant leak on same spot. i have inspected again and again nothing now. As for the ticking. I am very sure it is my brakes. On September I bough these chinese piece of s_T brakes from pepboys. the moment I installed them they started to click loudly every time you apply brake click click now they probably worn out a little and and hit against the rotor.
