Can anyone help me find an install guide for the large tip display?
I am waiting on install directions from seller, but would like to do the install like, right this minute. He labeled the 4 wires for me, and that was great, but I dont have the write up yet..
Anyone?

BUMP

The four wires on this guage are labeled:

1) negative ground

2)Black/Brown TCU.....

3)Dimmer switch blue Grey.....

4)PW, Ignition....

Where is the TCU ? Wheres the easiest place to tap into the ignition? And how to get into the dimmer?

TIA everyone, I figure its better to ask first, then to break something and ask later.

my case
2000 B5 V6 RHD

the signal wire from TCU is running to the conector located at the bottom of right side A pillar

wire location
T15m/2 black/blown wire
15 pin connector, brown, connector station A-piller,right

the wire comming from TCU to the back side of

disassemble the brown connector and connect both side
bottom side from TCU

push out the pin to connect the large tip display

hope this will help

Thank you kokopelli,
I went exactly where you said and found the wire.
I couldnt push the pin out so I bent it up, snipped and stripped the brown /black wire from the TCU,
And connected it to the guage signal wire.
Im not getting any reading on the guage ,
and the tiptronic display is still on the dash when I put it in tip mode. Any suggestions?

Update,
GOT IT!
after a couple hours, a cut finger, some very naughty words, and 3 cigarettes.
Whew.
Thank you for your help, couldnt have done it without that.

Man Rusty, Where were you yesterday ?!?! :lol:
I couldnt find that thread, and audithings site hasnt been up for a while.
With the help of finding the sending wire from the TCU,
I just tapped into the cigarette lighter for my power/ground.

I bought it off "B5Car" in classifieds. Julian has one he might want to get rid of if your interested.. I will take a pic tonight and post it or PM it to you. Its basically just a digital guage which comes on when your in tip mode displaying the gear your in. Looks awesome at night...
