I searched a few different things, and it looks like the simple answer in "no." I do remember that someone here took that loop out and replaced it with yarn, not perfect, but it still kept everything together.
I have seen on E-bay some re-conditioning kits which have new buttons, and new metal loop at the bottom. I didn't look up the link, and I have no idea what the quality is, but you might check there. Worst case, you could get a used fob, and swap your key and reprogram.
I haven't opened mine to see if the electronics can be removed. BUT if it can, then I am certain if you swap the KEY and the electronics, you'll be just fine. There is nothing magical about the plastic buttons.
