1999 Passat 1.8t AEB
3" Test Pipe with Custom 2.5" Exhuast **Only Modification**

I'm finally upgrading my turbo and have been searching through forums for the past couple of days for a straight forward answer but having no luck :banghead: people saying you can, then others saying you cant and car wont run right.

^^
I came across this forum which kinda of helped me out..VWblackb5 stated "Yes you can run K04 on "STOCK ECU" has to be AEB w/ ECU Ending in 557P and stock injectors."
-my ecu does end in 557P and I do have stock injectors and my engine code is AEB

Then I would run across people saying I will need a FPR, bigger injectors, tune etc.... BUT some of these answers were in response to people already running a K03 tune (or some type of tune) and some running stock tune....so this is where I'm stumped

I plan on ordering k04 turbo and other accessory's all today and this is what I have:

-K04 0015 Turbocharger & ATP High Flow Manifold Kit

-Forge Manual Boost Controller

-New South Boost Gauge

-Forge Turbo Inlet Hose

-Forge 008 Premium Diverter Valve
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-forge-parts/008-premium-diverter-valve-matte-silver/fmdv008ms~frg/

-3.5mm Vacuum Hose (replacing all my lines)

So my main question is, when I order everything and go to install next weekend. After installation will I be fine running the k04 0015 on my "STOCK ECU" no tune???
OR
Will I have to buy injectors, FPR, and get a tune???? (if so what do you guys recommend?)

**I will be getting a tune but not till mid spring or near summer**

Thanks,
RGF

You can run the car ob stock tuning with a K04 as long as you do not change the injectors or FPR until the tune is installed. You will gain some power, but not nearly as much as you will with a proper tune.

it will be fine. I ran a k04 on my ATW for a while before getting a tune. Everything else was stock. I couldn't back it with any numbers or tests, but it felt just slightly more powerful than with a k03. Definitely no issues whatsoever.
