Hello, I currently have a 2000 passat 1.8t fwd, don't remember engine code, love it but I will be giving it to my family. I'm currently looking into buying any year model of the b5 v6 passat. And I found one in my area and was wondering if anyone that has experience and advice to fill me in. 99 Volkswagen Passat GLX (o.b.o.) there's the link and please don't call the guy. I already called him and that passat is a 1 owner, and clean title, but we're both not sure if its awd or fwd. Plus he said the carfax was good and at least oil and other minor issues were taken care of. I am currently not aware of any problems or major concerns, as he stated there were none. I'm guessing this is "perfect" other than the mileage. That's where my main concern is, I'm not sure how good the v6's are, or with that much mileage if anything else is bound to fail. I will be getting more info but for now, if anyone has some informative thoughts, feel free to tell me. PS thanks in advance.

This guy dosent know if his own car is fwd or 4wd? Don't touch it as you can find a much better car elsewhere. Just to give you an idea, I bought my 03 GLX Variant 2.8L with 34,000 miles 4 months ago in SC and drove it back to the Boston area. Bought it for 7,050.

I paid 4300 for a 02 passat glx v6 4 motion with 120,000 leather seats, two owners (it was repo'd he bought it just to sell) alloy rims, no engine problems, no transmission problems. Nice leather seats, fully loaded.
