What is the # for the larger oil filter people talk about? and whaer can i get one? I did a search and nothing. if i am wrong i need directing. So thanks.

I get my from advance auto store, i'm sure any auto store has it i use mobil filter. Just go there and tell them your car info and they should have a selection of filters and choose the big one . You can also order it from here, just get a case of 10 and you should be set for a long time.

Is part number is L40316

I believe WIx/ Napa has a similar filter

What brand is that part # for. is the brand Mannolator, b/c ive never heard of it. Of do i just go to the counter and ask for that part #.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Passat oil filters. You do have a 1.8T, right?

To specifically address your question, the so-called Mannolator is a Mann filter that is sold as a Purolator. It is Purolator #L40316. It's really, really, big and is also known as the Big Kahuna. (NAPA/Wix makes a similar jumbo filter, the 1333). Search on either of these terms and you'll be swamped with threads.

IMO, the mid-size is plenty large enough but I can understand the desire to get the biggest possible filter.
