That looks pretty damn good but ya gotta show some daytime pics. :poke:
thank you Joker

I will be finished next week . I still have the inverter on the cigarrete light adapter and the computer is sitting on the passanger seat now.
Im installing everything in the trunk next week , and the only thing you will be able to see it will be a tiny track ball to control the computer .

So daytime pictures coming next week.

Is that monitor connected with a VGA connection, or normal RCA's?

VGA adapter to a composite input , trought my GEXp700TV tv tuner , the picture is pretty good. ( not like the SVGA monitors off course but pretty good)

The thing is that nobody will be able to know that i have a computer .

And I can watch regular TV on it

Fabio - Which Pioneer screen is that? I haven't seen that before. The computer looks pretty sweet! Why did you run it through the HU instead of right out to the amps? Could I run something like this through my C801?

Paul
Fabio, That is sick I can't wait to get back out there to see what all you've done to the car! While mine is hibernating yours is making sweet, sweet love to all the electronic toys!!

Paul, thats the AVX505 (not sure about the "AVX" part but I know that it is the 505 model...somewhat of an older model, but does the trick none the less!)
that thing is so sweet! do you also have vag-com?

Paul
Paul , I think you Alpine HU has 1 or 2 AV inputs so it should work fine .

the screen is a AVD505 I had to use my HU for 2 reasons , the screen needs a Brain to control it and i did not want to loose the TV tuner which is also controled by the HU .

I have a VAG COM and it will be conected to part of the system.

I'm going to pick your brain for a bit if you don't mind. :D How do you control the computer? What kind of ballpark figure would I be looking at to build the CPU?

I do have a second input I'm not using so it'd be an easy input. Also I could free up the one I'm using if I rip the DVDs to the HD. Your setup is looking like an ideal way to go for me. I can continue by PM if youd prefer.

Thanks!

Paul since you already have the screen and everything it will problably not cost you more than $ 500.00

I bought an E-vectra of Ebay for 150.00 with a 10g HD , then 30 bucks to upgrade the CD rom to a DVD ( I do have an extra slim DVD player if you need)

I already upgrade the hard drive to 40 using a hard drive that i had available.)

If you buy the evectra you will need a scan converter it costs $40 on Ebay cause the Evectra does not have composite video out put and you can not install another video card on it.

I bought a mini trackball thas is going to be mounted on the center console and a mini keyboard

I think i might mount a USB hub on the center console to connect other peripherals and the keyboard if i needed ( still thinking about it)

The GPS is a delorme Earth mate , ( nice little USB powered GPS) designed for laptop computers .

the software ( Media car ) you can dowload for free)

this is the links for the stuff i got of Ebay.

Sweet!! Thanks Fabio!

Paul
Looks awesome, i would just make 1 suggestion thuogh maybe if you did the DD conversion then your HU would fit better instead of it sorta half filling the space at the bottom. Other then that it looks amazing
For people that don't already have a monitor, could you have gotten this 7" in-dash lcd and hooked it up instead of the pioneer monitor?
How did you connect the computer sound to the hu?
How clear is the image when you use the gps program?
Lastly, where did you mount the computer?

Thanks,
Jacob
Audio conencted trough the GEXP7000TV , the image of the GPS is very clear .
