Recently my car sometimes starts to shake when I stop in red light, sometimes it even shut off itself. I thought it might be caused by the oxygen sensor or the air flow mass sensor, so I went to the dealer today to check if the two parts work well. But the dealer told me that they have to scan the engine computer first, is that true?
The scan process costs about 100 canadian dollars, so I think I'd better hear some professional opinions here.

thats a little steep even for canadian money

the obd-II reader does tell you stuff about the oxy sensor and other vitals

so they will probably need to do it ask a few other places and see if you can find a cheaper price

edit: your CEL light isnt on is it?

Yeah, that about sums up my experience with Mr. Lube (if they don't stick a screwdriver through your exhaust looking for soft spots, then they get oil everywhere so it ends up all over your garage  ).
