It'll be fine unless you have a metal based window tint.

Thanx Paul!!

You seem to be my personal helper with me trying to make my '99 worthy of membership!!! Your help is greatly appreciated.
In April, I drove from KC-FL(and back) through intense rain storms and never lost reception with my antenna mounted on the rear deck under limo tint

Just cuz it's dark doesn't mean it's a metal based film. Just ask the tint shop (because you will get tint if it isn't done already :poke:) if the film is metallized.

Funny thing is my GPS wont work very well on the rear deck .
I have a 35% carbon based window tint.
It works fine on the dashboard though .

Any thoughts?

My xm antenna is mounted in the top left corner and my reception stinks!!!
Moved it to the rear of the car and no problems.

I have 20% Llumar tint all around. I have most recently mounted my Sirius antenna in the rear window deck. Previously, I tried in on my roof, which didn't work well with my bike rack, so I moved it to the trunk. I have had equal luck with the trunk and the rear window deck with absolutely no problems whatsoever. I would put in the window deck right off the bat next time.

It's probably the carbon in the tint. For some reason the carbon is raising some red flags but I was in Utah for 5 days with 150 drunk AMMO troops playing softball in the sun so I'm a little fried at the moment.

The defroster strips fuck with GPS.

I tried my GPS in a Land Rover and it wouldn't work well because they have thin defrosters lines in the windshield too.
