Me and my girlfriend are on one policy (Allstate). We pay $850 every 6 months for two cars ($88/month each)

2002 1.8T Passat
2005 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.5L

Each has $250 comp/$500 coll

Gotta love it... I was paying over $1000/6 months just for my Passat.

You'll find drastic differences in rates depending on zip code you reside in. I lived in a rural area before I moved in the city. My rates practically doubled! I've never made a claim, I have no violations, 38 and married. Also, I have the multi-line discount (life, home owners, auto). Go figure.

$780/yr full coverage. $250 deductable. 31yr male/married. 2002 1.8t. Lex, KY 300K people.

I know these things vary a bit, but I can't imagine living in KY makes that much difference. Sounds like you all need to go shopping.

Edit: add a 2005 Honda Pilot with same coverage and its brings up to 1730/yr.

I go through a broker to get the best rate. He finds me the lowest rate from a number of different companies. He doesn't have to be locked down to a set rate scheme with a single company thus can provide the lowest rate from whoever offers it. If you can't find one locally I'd be happy to refer you to mine, been with him for 2.5 years now (through a totalled car even) and never had better service from an insurance agent.

Hope this helps.

I pay about $1100 a year for an '02 Dodge Caravan Ex (wife's) and an '04 1.8T 4Mo thru Erie Insurance. Both are full coverage, with $500 deductibles. We have our house and umbrella coverage with Erie as well, so get the multi-policy discounts.
