I'm intalling my springs and bilstein shocks sat. and was wondering which way is right side up on the springs? I looked through all the posts on S_klass' GB and didn't find much of anything? also, is it easier to unbolt the front shock assembly from under the hood and remove it that way, or remove the whole shock/upper control arm assembley like the manual tells you too?

Just make sure the writing on the spring is right side up and you'll be all good.

I found it easier to take the whole assembly out.

the bunched up section of coils should go towards the top. there's a debate as to which way is easier. do whatever is easiest for you. i just followed this process:

is it really hard to install springs yourself??????
i want them but i am debating whether or not i should do them myself or bring it somewhere to get done?????

shouldn't be that hard. you just need to make sure you use a spring compressor when taking them apart. I was just wondering which way the springs go on. thanks guys.

It took me 3 hr fo rthe front and 45 min for the rear. The first wheels was a pain (2hr), but hten I know how to work on the 2nd one (1hr).
My tip is dont do the step no.4 like in th elink above, it is easier to unbolt the control arms from teh control arm bracket on the top of the stru. When you get there you will see what I mean.

Make sure you have air compressor and air wrench to commpress the springs otherwise it will take you 2hr to compress one spring by hand, with air tools abot 5 min

mackman - I asked neuspeed before and they told me you can install

it either way cuz both end of the springs are the same. I have mine

letters upside down and it rides and handles just fine

you can install it yourself, if you have the tools. air tools are strongly recommended. i did them w/o air tools, and it's not fun.
