I had a split inner boot. The outside boot was showing dry rot cracks. Ordered both kits and installed but had a lot of problems with inner cover. I'm not sure I have it in far enough. It seems like the cover should be pressed in. I used a small chisel and worked my way around but I could not get it in the groove as far as original was. It seemed secure so I reinstalled axle but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this. 1). how should this cover be installed and 2). It seems it could not come off with the tight area when bolted to transmission. Any worries? The flange seated flat with hand tight bolts.
