LOL

It doesnt look bad from the front....I like it. I dont think it looks beautiful but its nice.

The rear is funky...but not bad at all. Lines seem to look nice and clean and its not overdone....not too many curves. Nice.

The interior is tooooo A8ish.....which BTW is the only Audi interior I dont like....from the design standpoint.

How soon before the after-market comes up with a big brake kit

20-inch alloy wheels with 255/35R20 Michelin high performance tires bling-bling

At least Honda didn't claim a first... like Lexus...

World's first Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive System(TM) (SH-AWD(TM))
Didn’t Nissan come with Super-Hicas 4 wheel steering in the 80’s or was it 90’s… another flop… I mean first...

Genuine wood trim

AcuraLink(TM) Satellite-Based Communication System

Advanced Compatibility Engineering(TM) (ACE(TM)) body structure

I like it.
Those huge wheels make the car look smaller than the TL.
It doesn't look substantial or special enough to look like their flagship sedan, very tasteful though.
Nice to see all-wheel drive to deal with the torque steer problem that plagues the TL.
Love the fine interior, the steering wheel is big improvement over the TL lumpy one. It should be a hit, since I'm guessing it will be competitively priced amongst the luxury import sedans (Audi A6/A8, BMW 5-series, Mercedes E-class, Infiniti Q45, and Lexus GS/LS series), and lightyears ahead of anything domestic (the Cadillac STS is the only thing that comes to mind).

I give it a
It's about time the RL gets a redesign! Can't wait to see the next NSX!

so it rides on a 3" longer wheel base then the current TL, and is 4" longer over all.

That still places it 6 to 11" shorter (wheel base and over all then its competitors)

Acura could compete with its competitors, it seem to just to choose not to....

Since you guys decided to jump on the other thread that had new pictures, I figured I'd post them here.

With that sexy interior, Audi is most definitely screwed.

Actually, according to the President of Acura the RL competitors are the A6, 5 Series, E-Class, GS & M45. Acura doesn't have a vehicle that competes w/ the A8, 7 Series, LS, etc. There have been rumors about Acura building a vehicle above the RL, but that will require quite a bit of money (new platform, V8 engine, etc.)

As far as size goes, here are some numbers for comparison....

RL:
193.5" Length
110.2" Wheelbase
72.6" Width
57.1" Height

E Class:
189.7" Length
112.7" Wheelbase
71.3" Width
57.2 Height

5 Series:
190.6" Length
113.7" Wheelbase
72.7" Width
57.8" Heigth

New A6:
193.7" Length
111.8" Wheelbase
73.2" Width
57.5" Height

Well I guessed I was confused, I always though the TL was supposed to be that competitor.

intresting though...
I think part of the confusion comes from Acura themselves. They stated that they benchmarked the 530i in terms of ride/handling when building the TL, even though the 5 series is not the TLs competition (the 3 series, G35, etc. are).

Basically, from what I know........
-The TSX targets the IS300, 325i, MB C230/240, A4 1.8T, etc.
-The TL targets the 330i, A4 3.0, MB C320, ES330, etc.
-The RL targets the fastest growing segment of luxury cars (the $50k market which includes the A6, 5, E-Class, etc.).
