Arriving in 2010, very low, flat coupe that looks pretty much like a modern 928, will use a much shorter version of the upcoming Panamera platform (RWD, AWD option). V8s will benefit from direct injection (turbos on the top model), 6-cylinder from next gen Cayenne V6 a possibility, thought doubtful since it might steal 911 sales. Power will range from 350hp to 550

I saw the bottom photo and that write-up in the latest R&T, I think. Very interesting. They talked about Porsche upping production in a MAJOR way. Another smaller SUV, plus the 928, the Panamera, the 911, Cayman, Boxster and Cayenne. That's a big jump in production numbers for what was, and still is (relatively) and niche production company.

But about the 928. It seems to leverage a ton of Cayenne/Panamera parts so it's probably going to be another huge margin vehicle. And you know what, it looks pretty damn good, IMO. The front shot above reminds me a lot of the new Ferrari Scaglietti:

The new 928 will be built on the front-engine Panamera platform:

The top end model will use the turbo V8, but a so-called "halo" model will be offered with the Carrera GT's V10 powerplant.

Hmmmm... a sexy version of the sexy version (928 S4)

OLD

NEW

OLD

NEW

Me likey. Given the relative rarity of the 928 S4 version... it's always been a favorite sighting on the road. Even above 911's of any flavor.

I like it a lot... let's see, in 2010, 4 years from now, I should one year out of law school making a disastrously gaudy amount of money at a corporate law firm in NYC. Perfect, then I can buy one brand new. :)

Good luck with that. You'll buy it and it'll sit in the garage because you're working 90 hrs/week.

I gotta say , rear end especially (unlike crisyoon, I've always loved it). It will probably be out just in time for "Risky Business II".:rolleye:

I'll be a year or two behind you from dental. Stuttgart or bust!:biglaugh:

Um... What was the pricing difference between the old 928 and its contemporary Carrera? Do you feel this difference will be observed in the new version?
