Bentley Continental to get companion sedan

A four-door companion to the Bentley Continental GT is undergoing development tests, in preparation for its official launch next year as a 2006 model.
Sources say the new Bentley sedan will be built on a stretched version of the Continental GT, which in turns shares its basic underpinnings with the Volkswagen Phaeton and the Audi A8. The big Bentley will get all-wheel drive and is expected to be powered by a twin-turbocharged 12-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The car could make its debut in September at the Paris Auto Show. Its first U.S. showing will likely be next January at the Detroit show.

That pic is a test mule. The internals are all in there; W12 twin turbo and 6 speed tranny, but the car looks like an A6 as to not attract too much attention. They used the A6 because it's dimmensions are similar to what the real car would look like and has the AWD system already built in. It's probably loaded with lead plates to make it as heavy as the real car. Also look at the front bumper. Its made to look very similar to the Continental GT's bumper for aero dynamic testing.

There was a pic floating around of a Jetta that looked to be stretched out testing on a track. That was probably the new Passat in testing.
