Hello from Ramadi, Iraq. It's been 6 months since I've posted or even looked at clubb5.com and low and behold you've moved! I'm headed home next month and can't wait to drive the Passat again. So have I missed much in 6 months? We have a 300+ hp turbo kit yet? What's new?

Glad to hear you've made it safely! Well let's see, I'm whoring my wheels out again, got lots of things going on the car today and in the next week and you've missed 5 or 6 B5OTMs.

That freedom bird home is the best flight I've ever taken (took it home from the middle east last year). Glad to hear you're coming back. Same old chat....air intake mods, boost leaks, shock install problems, best combos for shocks....you know, the typical stuff we talk about..:)

Glad you are coming home. Thank you for all that you do in protecting our freedoms and doing those things that the rest of us assholes are too fat and lazy to do!

You don't know a Michael Reeves, do you?

I don't know where you were stationed or anything, and I know it is a long shot, but hey, you gotta ask, right?

Hey, Bob, I'm glad to see that the end of your tour is in sight!

If it's safe to do so, and if you have a digi cam, post a couple of pics of those old Passat taxis I keep seeing on the news in the Old Passat Discussion section here on Passatworld. It would be interesting to see them up close!

Yeah I'd say that's a long shot. There are tens of thousands of personnel from 3 branches in the middle east. Add in the Navy personnel on ships in the area and it goes up even more.

But ya gotta ask!

yeah, it was really funny, when he first found out where he was going, he was talking to my other friend who asked him where he was going and he said "I can't tell you, but....are you near the AIRPORT right now?"

Funny stuff. Anyway, get home safe.

Prayers for your safety returning home.

Wow, six months. Besides all the above-mentioned stuff, you missed the Insurrection (am I allowed to talk about it? :nervous: ), where several CB5er's decided they knew better than the moderators what was best for the site. I don't know the whole story - but they're gone. It was high drama!!! :) Sort of funny, sort of ridiculous, and sort of sad all at the same time. :(

Im in a place known as Junction City but is also referred to as Ramadi. We are next to 1st Marine Division HQ at a camp called Blue Diamond. We are headed out today for another base with an airfield so the end is in site.

I haven't seen any taxi passats. A lot of toyotas though.

I believe I won't be a member of clubb5 much longer though as I may be selling the Passat and buying an E46 Bimmer. I know this is blasphamy just speaking of it but I'm ready to move on into something different. Plus, there's not too much more you can do to a Passat after $11K in mods! So when I get back and take the care in to the shop for a check up and detail the heck out of it, don't be surprised to see it under online trading with a big FS: next to it.

Cheers, Bob

Glad to hear you are en route back to the homestead! I remember when we were slated to come back from the first romp in the sandbox, you sure get worked up!!! Be careful, though, that's when you get sloppy. No fun having problems so close to rotating out.

Let us know how things work out with the, uh, um, Bimmer. :)
