No, to both questions.
The build thread is here 914World.com - A Porsche 914 Community / Forum / ClubI don't know enough about the car's electronics to answer, but I'd like to see pics of the physical installation in the 914.
Seriously, I want the system to work. I know I can remove or cover parts but that's not the solution I want.Just put electrical tape over the display. Problem solved.

wont work, he is running a 2000 setup and if i remember right he kept the DBW so the cluster swap to the older one will cause more issues than just an ABS light. You could install a cluster from a 98-99 passat that doesnt have the screen to display stop brake fault
If it can be done in the ECU, I will farm it out to 034 Motorsport. They were supposed to flash all that crap out when they did the big turbo tune. Other stuff like: EVAP, SAI, EGR, wastegate control, rear O2... were all flashed out of the system. VagCom got the rest of the stuff flashed out. The ABS code is definitely in the ECU. The instruments only show a fuel gauge code right now. My fuel gauge adapter is not working correctly. The short term fix is to pick up a Chrysler sender (30-240 ohm) to work with the VW 0-250 ohm gauge. I have the original Passat sender but it will require major mods to fit into the Porsche tank.wont work, he is running a 2000 setup and if i remember right he kept the DBW so the cluster swap to the older one will cause more issues than just an ABS light.
its been awhile since i have gotten deep into a DBW programming but i recall there was a way to get into ECU to delete the ABS and prevent the code. give me a little bit i will see what i can dig up, but unless you have the proper cable and program to read/write the eeprom in the ECU you will have to farm this out to someone else once you figure out what needs to be done.
