1999 V6 Tip 47000 miles, Mobile 1 0w40 for the last 2000 miles (dino before that)

There is a an accumulation of a greasy, off-white substance on the inside of my oil filler cap, a lot of it. It's thick, not foamy and/or runny. Is it condensation? Something else? Anyone else have this? What should I do?

Details:
- a few short trips every day, only travel 2.5 miles to/from work
- it is cold here (6F this morning)
- my coolant is bright pink and the coolant level is good
- my car has been vibrating pretty hard at stop lights, but runs good otherwise
- oil on the dipstick looks normal (dark brown) but sometimes there is a small amount of the greasy substance on it also

Thanks,
Mark

Its just condensation that builds up when the motor doesn't get up to operating temperature. When your motor runs for a longer period, this condensation is "burned -off". It should clear up after a longer drive.

The key to the answer lies in the fact that you only take short trips. This means it is likely that your oil temp does not go above the 212F required to begin boiling off any condensed water in your oil.
