I Need a parts list of what we replace on the PCV system on the AWM engine...

I tried searching this, but I'm either not using the correct criteria or I find stuff for other engine codes. Can somebody give me the 411 on exactly what I need for 1.8T AWM engine? I'm getting a little seepage of oil around the valve cover and I'm beginning to think that maybe the PCV is the culprit.

My B5.5 is a 2003 model, 1.8T engine, 55,000 mostly suburban miles. All oil changes with 502.00 spec or better oil. A schematic would be helpful, too!

Thanks!!!

Okay, I got the ETKA page - what do I need to buy?

#5 and 6 (or 6A depending on your car) in the diagram plus the clamps. Buy screw clamps as the 1 time use clamps are almost impossible to tighten once on the car. #2 can break easily, so watch out when you pull it apart.
I only replaced 5 and 6A. I keep meaning to clean out the puck valve but haven't done so yet. Some people replace 2,3,4 and I think some of the breather tubes and hoses, although I didn't. At 70k miles the parts I replaced didn't look that bad, they probably could've stayed on.

Hey, thanks for the info! Can you give me an idea what size clamps I will need? I'd like to start ordering the stuff and getting it all together to attack this job.

The puck in the back of the engine should be okay?
That doesn't match my AWM engine. The puck is on the intake hose (not the back of the engine) and there's no purge valve (058) in the diagram, which I understand is a prime suspect for the leaky valve cover.
Also check out EKTA 133-25 for the "suction pump." That was plugged on mine. I replaced those other items too, but the suction pump was really the only bad one. It, and the PCV "bleeder" valve (6,6a) seem to be hooked up differently than in my 2001 AUG engine. It is the angled branch of the "Y" which is most likely to plug. If you unhook the hose from that, and can feel suction when the engine is running, the suction pump is probably okay.

I know that the puck on my is located at the rear end of the block, between teh engine and the firewall. I'm not sure if it's connected like this diagram, though. I haven't been under the hood since it is below freezing with a wind chill in the teens at the moment.

And that purge valve - where is that? Can anyone lead me to the correct ETKA page for that?

Thanks for that add'l info! I'll have to add that to the list.

2002 AWM and 2003 AWM are VERY different...found that out when comparing VAGguy's '03 and my '02. My '02 B5.5 AWM has the puck up front like you described.

Gotsta be careful when comparing ETKA and years....there ARE differences in the AWM engine based on year.
I don't think this is related to any seepage around the valve cover, but a few weeks back I was poking around the back of my engine ('01.5 AWM) looking for the coolant sensor and discovered that #13 on ETKA 103-95 was split. It probably contributed to the film of oil on the back of the engine in the CCA gasket area. Just a heads up.
I can't see your diagram at work, but I'm assuming it's this one:

2 (hard plastic, but mine broke during removal), 5, 6, 10, 13, 15, and all the clamps connecting them. It also depends if you have 6 or 6a. You'll have to check to see which you have.

Probably 19 and 20 from this page.

I am not sure on the clamp size. Order the rubber T and measure it when it comes in. I only install the parts (as a side job), I don't buy them. I had a 1.8T, but that was 4 years ago. Just a guess, I would say 1.50".

As for the puck, it would not hurt to remove it and clean it out. Check the rubber hose attached as they can go bad and were under a recall for certain years.
