...and here is the result. I freaking love it. It toned down the "LOOK AT ME!" look and got the color scheme back on track (black/tan/chrome). Loving every second of it. And of course, had the parking sensors painted to match.

Rear was also done, which I think makes the car look a tad lower when viewed from behind. The gray rear valence gave it a slight lift which I didn't like.

What's next? Probably Hella euro tail lights... then, who knows - that's the fun of it.

And for the photos... lighting was poor (too dark and cloudy) and car wasn't very clean, but I was very anxious to capture the result.

Cheers!

Thanks guys, appreciate the comments.

@mount, I agree that the fresh black pearl paint next to the mesh grills makes them stand out a bit more, which I don't really care for, but I also don't see myself painting them. I think I'll just get used to it as the black plastic simply isn't as black as the paint. :)

Or maybe I'll get crazy and use back-to-black on my radiator grills. :O

Very stealth!

Looks like a sleeper/BMW-MB killer made for the autobahn. :driving:
Funny you say that - it's actually subtle yet aggressive AMG/BMW M styling that drove me to do the black... it's still a Passat, and it's aggressive, but not shouting anymore. :D

Looks fantastic. Huge improvement over the gray (of which I'm not a fan) and makes the kit look good. Just the right amount of contrast with the wheels and chome strips. Class.

I'm toying with the idea of painting the grill on my car but can't decide on black or white (the car is white). I don't think white would produce the same effect you've got going.

Well done! :thumbup

If you end up color matching the grill on your white wagon, let me know. Be sure to post pics! I have a white wagon and have been going over the same issue as you. Yet to see one done. Might take a photo and then photoshop it to see...
