Has anyone else heard about this "Ultimate Street Car Challenge" being put on by Car and Driver?
Apparently HPA has been asked to represent VW against the Dinans and Lingenfelters, etc, in an upcoming feature.

Looking at the HPA video's they're claiming 550+hp, 0-60 in 3.2 seconds, and fasten-your-5-point-harness top speed of 202 mph!

cool. i can't wait for that issue to come out. hopefully it can hold up and run. all too often, highly tuned cars simply don't run with nearly the stated power and performance or they simply break.

Yea, that's why the street car challenge is so neat, they beat the cars to death to make sure they aren't just parts hangers or dyno queens with performance claims that are paper thin. HPA represented there too, and the results aren't in yet, but I know that a S/C V6MkII MR2 won overall.

Yeah it raced Dahlback. Not sure of the outcome at all.

I wanna see this issue, I may just have to pick up a copy or get a subscription. Going to be a nice issue (read: keepsake) for us VW gear heads. :lol:
