Has anyone had this bubbling up issue with their interior door trim material? I purchased used, and never got the full story on on it eventually turned into a tear.
I may just slice it off, but wanted to see if there’s any precedent for this repair.

I would suggest that you fill the internal space with some "araldite" type glue, and as soon as the glue starts to dry and bind, you would press it with your fingers and/or stretch the detached material until it was firm in the desired position. .. you could also try before that to make the torn and irregular parts straighter, making cuts at the ends... and after everything is glued and dry, you could fill in the space with black ink and simulate the texture of the material using a stamp made from of the solid material on the side... I could take a square piece of "durepox" and press it against the solid material on the side so that when the durepox dried it would have the texture of the material... so I would use this durepox stamp to simulate the texture in the filler paint after gluing everything in place... I don't know if I explained the suggestion properly as English is not my main language.

another suggestion would be to remove the torn piece and fill the space with "araldite" dyed black, you could dye the araldite with those tire shine products, which make the tires very black, you know? And next to that you would make a stamp of the texture of the material on the side, with durepox the stamp. so you would press the stamp onto the dyed araldite and give it the similar texture. before applying the texture you would have to leave the araldite aligned with the edges of the material around the filling, maybe sanding it after everything dries, but then it would lose some of the texture.

You explained it great. Thank you!
I'm going to look into it. I love the idea of using the durepox to similute the texture of the material as a stamp. Honestly, it sounds like more work than I want to put into it. So I may just cut the sharp edges of the tears, and glue them down to the padding over the panel. If I venture into araldite and durepox, i'll post a reply. thanks again.
