A fallen branch managed to whack my passenger side mirror hard enough to break the glass and turn signal, but leave the cap and power mechanism intact. I know how to change the glass, but I assume I have to remove the cap to change the turn signal - and I don't remember how.

All the write-ups I see are for the older, more square mirror - access plug on the bottom, etc. I have the newer teardrop-shaped mirrors (2004.5) without the access plug.

Anyone help me out?

For anyone else searching for this: Turned out to be easier than I thought. Simply pry at the front edge near the hinge with a non-marring tool. I used half of a spring-type clothespin. Once loosened, it lifts right off. HERE is a video I found on YouTube. My Bentley manual covered only the older, more common version of the mirror.

Note that my mirror had Phillips screws, not the T10 Torx mentioned in the video.
