12 wires isn't a lot, not when you consider that the window motor is also the 'door control unit'.Why so many wires for a DC motor that can be activated from the drivers panel and the rear door? 6 maybe but 12! Is the CCM suppose to control it to not lock?
The design actually reduces the amount of wiring in the vehicle - all door functions are operated from a given door, rather than all of that wiring needing to be run back to a centralized control unit (note, too, that the CCM would be significantly larger, if it had to operate all of the windows & locks.)
