I was just wondering, how many of you actually use your DVD player in your car, and if so, what DVD's do you play??

I have a bunch of music video DVD's, mostly rap DVD's.... so that way I can listen to the music, while my passengers watch....

any pics of DVD set up?

I don't have pics of my old Pioneer screen and dvd setup but I'll have pics of my new Alpine screen and dvd player setup when I get it back from the paint shop. I use mine all the time. For in town stuff I basically use it as a second cd player, but for anything more than about an hour or so I'll pop a movie in.

I use my dvd player all the time...But sometimes the sound quality of music dvds is hit or miss. Not to mention that most dvds are recorded at a quieter volume than cds, so you will have to turn the volume up louder to achieve the same output as a cd, and sometimes there just isnt enough volume control to compensate, aside from adjusting all the gains on your amps. But yeah, I think it's really cool, and on road trips it is a great way to keep everyone entertained.

Word advice though - if you're gonna be watching them yourself try to stick to movies you've seen about 80 million times like Top Gun, etc, because you wont be nearly as tempted to watch the screen as much and you'll pay more attention to the road. lol.

Use it on longer trips. Watch TV more than DVDs especially during football season.

Haven't been able to use my triple zone setup since my daughter doesn't like her headphones.

I'm thinking about adding a TV tuner myself especially sine the Alpine tuner has a switcher built in. One less piece. The only non-Alpine part will be the TV antenna. Sony, BY FAR, has the best mobile TV antenna on the market. Only down side is it's $100 retail. I'm going to do a completely separate setup in the rear with DVD and VHS only. My girls don't watch broadcast TV anyway. if it's not Nick or Cartoon Network they won't watch it and I'm not popping for a $2000 satellite dish for the car. It would ruin the look of the car even if it is only a couple of inches thick.

I have a TV tuner and DVD and find myself watching the DVD's more because of reception. On the DVD's, I kind of got hooked playing a movie and listening to the production notes (you know the movie plays while the director or actors talk about the movie in the foreground and how it was made etc.). I find that I watch the road and still get DVD enjoyment.

Its a godsend on long road trips with my 2.5 year old. Time to invest in some headphones though, because Im getting sick of hearing the wiggles sing.

I have 5.5 screens in the headrests, one in the middle between the seats, and one in the front for the wife. Also have wires run to the trunk for car shows, for use with another screen, or my laptop.

I need to find a good screen for my nissan pathfinder.....and a headrest mount that mounts on the headrests, but can be angled towards the middle.

Anyone here know of a good website?

Other than ebay.

Did you know that a lot of the real cheap monitors have the same screens as the more expensive items? Besides, it's for children. As long as they can see the show they won't care anyway. :D
