Hello fellow clubB5er's,

Just wondering how long your ICM goes between replacements. Seems odd, but I have had 4 of them in my 99 AEB at 260 000 Kilometers. and they seem to be lasting less distance between replacements.

Please post your year, engine code and ICM history.

Thanks,

Malcolm

Please forgive my ignorance. ICM stands for............?

Ignition Control Module; Definately located on the top of the airbox of an AEB. Others, just not sure...

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Malcolm

ICM Replaced after limping to a stealership from the freeway at 75k miles.
Was charged $360 for part and labor. (I didn't have the time to look for deals and perform the labor at the time since I was on my way to my fiancee's graduation ceremony that day)

I'm at 184k miles now with no ICM problems so far.

One replacement at 80K (or was it 60K) miles?
Currently at 166K.
I am convinced that heat cycling is what causes the Bosch unit to fail.
