2001 B5 Variant

I had he water ingress issue about a year and a half ago. I replaced the CCM and respliced much of the harness. All was well for quite some time until one day the horn horn just starting blowing by itself. Usually I could hit the horn and it would stop and that was that. Well it got to the point where I needed to take the fuse out. I can still hear a "clicking" by the fuse box like its trying to blow but it cant with no fuse in. From my searches I have seen possible remedies from a new clock spring, to checking to see if a penny is lodged between the horn and airbag, to a new CCM

My trunk/hatch will not lock, the alarm will arm by itself with the drivers door open or if I am in the car prior to starting it. My interior lights come on when I first open the door...then they promptly go off. I I open it to the point where I still cant get out the interior lights work fine. Searches have spawned remedies from some sort of failed switch...to CCM.

So it seems my common denominator is the CCM. I will go back in and check the splices - but is there anything else I should be looking for? I have VAG-COM now that I purchased for my now totaled A8, I just cant seem to put my hands on the cable. I stuck it somewhere when I cleaned out the Audi...I guess I really need to find it now. I'm sure I can check the CCM with VAG-COM, but I'm also hoping someone has had one or all of these problems and can give me some guidance. I'd like to just buy whatever may be needed and replace it all in one shot.

I've had a ton of cars but I really like my old wagon and really want to keep it as right as possible. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance

Which horn is blowing? The CCM is in no way connected to the main horn, there is a separate horn in the back of the car for the alarm system. Based on your description, it sounds like the main horn, so you're looking at an issue in the steering wheel, most likely.

The interior light issue point to a problem in the driver's door, most likely with the lock mechanism, but possibly with the wiring under the rubber boot between the door and A pillar, or an issue with the control electronics in the door, which are housed on the window motor. The lock mechanism is by far the most suspect, though.

Yep the main horn. Sorry, I should have been more clear. Thats good news, I really have no desire to fool with that CCM again. I miss my horn, and I have to get the car inspected next month so I need to get on the good foot. I will get this lock mechanism you speak of, hopefully I can search and find a part number and some instructions. I found my VAG-COM cable so I will check the CCM and see if it sees it or if it reads any faults.

I agree with soundguybob and as he suggested by posting the repair link, I suggest you repair your existing lock module.
There have been a lot of problems with Chinese modules, and OEM are expensive.
