I'm surprised no one has raised this question. OPA, I'm certainly disappointed in you.:(

The front runner so far has been Caroline Kennedy. There are certainly many Kennedy haters out there that oppose her.

So what do you all think?

I think she would be a good choice.

You don't have to be a Kennedy hater to think Caroline from Minnesota would not be a great choice for Senator from New York. He Dad was an icon and her Uncle Bobby
would have rocked the world, but Bobby was still never a New Yorker.

What's she done? Enlighten us . . . honestly. I'm hoping 12 years of Bush would make us cautious of the idle rich pausing to grace us with their attention.

If she's been running charities and doing great stuff under the radar, I'd like to hear it.

Here you go.

Kennedy is an attorney, writer, editor and serves on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations.
From 2002 through 2004, Kennedy worked as director of the Office of Strategic Partnerships for the the New York City Department of Education. The three-day-a-week job paid her a salary of $1 and had the goal of raising private money for the New York City public schools.[21] In that capacity, she helped raise more than $65 million for the city’s public schools.[22][3] She currently serves as one of two vice chairs of the board of directors of The Fund for Public Schools, a public-private partnership founded in 2002 to attract private funding for public schools in New York City.[23] According to The Politico, her children attended "one of Manhattan’s most exclusive private schools."[24] She has also served on the board of trustees of Concord Academy, which she attended as a child.[25]
Kennedy and other members of her family created the Profiles in Courage Award in 1989. The award is given to a public official or officials at the federal, state or local level whose actions best demonstrate the qualities of politically courageous leadership in the spirit of John F. Kennedy's book, Profiles in Courage.[26] In addition, Kennedy is currently president of the Kennedy Library Foundation.[3] She is also an adviser to the Harvard Institute of Politics, a living memorial to her father.

I guess it looks better than your current governator who was just an action film actor?

Thank you.

Arnold was a "none of the above" type candidate, who has spent us broke and is a cousin of Caroline's by marrage.

Sorry a little OT, but to ad on to your statement some dumbdicks are trying to get the law changed so he can run for presodent :icon_eek:
That would take an amendment to the Constitution. I'm pretty sure most of the country would not want this changed to the Governator can become the President.

Add to that the anti-immigrant feelings in this country...

And really, if we can't find ONE good candidate in 200 million native-born people, that's REALLY sad.

Well, California has 38 million residents and they picked a foreigner for governator. We already contract out a significant amount of our work to foreign countries. Why not the president?:p
