HELP: Stubby Passenger Mirror!

I need you help making a decision.

I have already prepaid for a set of InPro Chrome Mirror Covers since January from a local shop. The local shop is pretty cool. But they are having a tough time getting the full mirror covers from InPro.

Here is where I need you help.

They have in stock a few sets of Inpro Chrome Mirror Covers, but it's for the stubby Passenger and the full Driver mirrors.

Should I just order a stubby mirror from the dealer or find someone that wants to trade their stubby for my full. And just pickup the Chrome ones in stock?

Or, should I just wait it out and get the ones I ordered?

It's just been too long, so I am feeling itching on doing something soon.

Please help! Thanks!

You'll have a red mirror? But if you want I'll do it!
Is the mirror the same between the B5 and the B5.5 rusty? I'd hop next in line after rusty but I'm not ready to budget the repainting job.

I have a Colorado Red B5.5 Passat.

My only concern about swaping is:
If the bases are the same, can we just swap the cover and the mirror? or the internals as well?
If the bases fit and wanna do a complete swap with they plug right in?

My passat has heated/power mirrors, but doesn't adjust when in reverse.
Also I upgraded the glass to the Blue tinted MK4 non-Split glass, but I still have the normal ones. If that makes any difference.

I prefer local, that way if it doesn't work we can just swap it back.

TIA!

No, I have an Elegant Green mirror, but I was assuming that if I bought one I'd have to paint it anyway, and I was also assuming that your chrome cover would cover the green.

But on second thought, there is some body color on the inside of the mirror that the covers probably don't cover. So it's probably not a good idea w/o more research. If you have someone with CO red that wants to trade, that would make a lot more sense.

But IIWY, I'd just wait for the larger covers to come in. The stubby mirror looks annoying at certain angles, and (safety first!) has less field-of-view.

Hah-hah - too bad we didn't hook up at ND, we could have tried it! But I think especially since you show your car, you should stick with the full-sized mirror. Just one of those extra little touches that might be the difference between placing and showing...

4meezy- I was looking at the parts4euro website. I want to get a set of these In.Pro mirrors, I have an 2002 glx 4mo sedan and I thought that the set listed on their site would work ( part # 80001 ). However when I called the guy who answered informed me that this wouldn't work for my car, a B5.5- that they would only work for the B5's- I think you've got a B5.5 - did you have any problems getting them on your car? The website expressly states that these are for symetrical mirrors...
nope they fit like a glove. very easy just pop the old ones off and snap the new ones on.

this here is the exact link that i ordered them from (i saved it in my email)
