When doing some work to run a power cable for an amp... I noticed that the pictured plug or sensor... or whatever the heck it is... had come loose from where ever it was clipped.

The sensor is laying just below the windshield by the passenger side wiper.

Can anyone tell me what this is and where it should go?

Thanks.

Wow. No one knows what it is or where it goes?? If you remove the cover over the battery it should be visible. I now think that it is clipped to the underside of the long tray or cover that covers that entire area.

What year is your car? Is it a GLX? I have a 1999 GLS and have never seen that part. It looks like a solenoid of some sort. Perhaps with some more details people can find the part on their car.

Oops. It's a 2004 B5.5. Yes... it's a GLX.

It has three little white spots or sensor at one end that are about a mm in diameter.

I wonder if it is the outside temperature thermometer.... though I would think that would be located lower down and closer to the front grill.
