I opened my sunroof in my 98 1.8t, and now it won't close. When I turn the switch, it just kinds of whirrs for a second and then stops, like it was running off a dying battery or something. I tried checking the connections of the wires in the little panel above the switches - nothing seems to be wrong there. I also tried to pull it shut, didn't work. Anyone have any ideas??? I'm outside of warranty.

And if you don't have the manual, it really isn't that hard. Pull down the panel just in front of the switch. (It is just held in by spring clips.) There will be a hex wrench stowed there. Use it to crank the sunroof shut by inserting one end into the hole in the motor housing. You should be able to figure it out from there.
